Clothing resale in Boulder
July 25, 2011
I own one pair of shorts. Scratch that, they aren’t even shorts; they are a pair of green khakis that I gnawed into shorts with a dull pair of scissors. When I wear them I look like the incredible hulk after he has turned back into Bruce Banner. My point being, they aren’t my favorite, but since Boulder has, apparently, recently transformed into the surface of the sun, my hulk shorts are looking more and more attractive. Oh man, I just need to go shopping.
Under normal circumstances shopping is fun, but because of my unwitting vow of poverty that is college, now it means eating cup-a-noodles for a solid week in exchange for an article of clothing.
Thankfully, I have a way around this. Boulder has a few resale clothing stores that have nice stuff at low prices. Plato’s closet on Arapahoe is a good place for casual garb and they are usually the cheapest. The Buffalo Exchange on Pearl is another great place. Some of their stuff is a little out there for me, but there are definitely gems in there too. Last but not least, there is Rags on 28th street. Rags is a little more expensive, but the clothes are higher quality and it still much cheaper than buying new clothes. As a bonus, all of these places will buy your unwanted clothes, so you can get a little extra cash in your pocket.
But I’m pretty sure my hulk shorts are unsellable.
