Course & Program Fees

Required course and program fees for academic year 2017-18 (charged in fall, spring and summer).

  • Fees listed are permanent unless otherwise indicated.
  • Students may be charged both course fees and program fees.
  • Academic units are required to establish a Student Advisory Committee of at least five students from that unit, at least one of whom is recommended by the appropriate student organization or government, for the purpose of reviewing course and program fee proposals.
  • Course Fees: Academic units (e.g. schools, colleges, departments or programs) may charge course fees related to the administrative costs for specific academic courses. Course fees are used for costs directly related to the course for which they are charged, charged to all sections of the same course, and cover the unusual costs for those course offerings.
  • Program Fees: Program fees are instructional fees approved by the Board of Regents and charged on an individual basis per semester to help offset the higher costs of specialized supplies and equipment unique to these courses. In addition, lab courses not linked to a lecture course may require payment of a course fee.
